Milestones

So on Saturday, Lucy officially started crawling. As you've seen in the video on the right, she was sort of doing this odd inchwormy thing before where she'd get her legs up underneath her and then shoot her arms forward if it meant she could get something easier than actually moving. Saturday, however, she realized that in fact actually using her arms made everything easier, and now she's on the move. I am going to try to post some new videos of this but in the meantime you'll have to take my word for it. She also is getting a top tooth, it officially started to break through last night. Big things here for us and no pics to show for it, but I'll have more soon!

Lamby

Lucy got a Lamby present from her LaLa yesterday - I tried to get some shots of her exploring it but she has trouble staying still long enough for me to get a non-blurry photo. Must be something about being a baby...

Cry it out

So I think when Lucy was a few weeks old I posted something on this blog and put "Crying it out" as the headline. Well, this week we really did "cry it out" in all senses of the phrase. What that means is that instead of going in and feeding her in the middle of the night when she woke up, I just let Lucy cry. It was insanely hard for two nights, and then on the third night she slept through! She's still waking up very early - 5 on a few days since she's been sleeping through, 6:35 on one day, and 4 today. The 4am wake-up I believe is because of course now that she's sleeping through the night, she is getting another tooth. In any case, sleeping from 6:30 or 7 to 4am is very different than sleeping until 4 and waking up at 12, 2, 3, etc. So we are making small steps but I think we are getting there! Its a big relief to be able to sleep a bit better - that is until things inevitably change again....
